 the 1st story of food streets in Daegu! 





 1. Dongin-dong Jjimgalbi Alley 

Dongin-dong Jjim Galbi is a signature dish of Daegu. Since the 1960s, Dongin-dong area steamed galbi restaurants has been cooking juicy and flavorful spicy galbi in aluminum pots. There are a number of Jjim galbi restaurants along the street.

 2. Namsan-dong Dwaeji Bossam Street 

It is one of the well-known food alleys in Daegu where about 20 restaurants specializing in bossam (steamed pork wrapped in leaves) are. You can enjoy delicious steamed pork and kimchi here.

 3. Jungni-dong Gopchang Alley 

Joongri-dong Beef Tripe Alley is famous for the beef tripe casseroles. There are about 40 shops in the alley. There are many regulars who have been coming here for over 20 years.

 4. Naedang-dong Bangogae Seasoned Raw Fish Alley 

Because Daegu is an inland area, people do not often have the opportunity to taste truly fresh fish. Instead local people have enjoyed the special taste of Muchimhoe, in which boiled squid, turban shellfish, freshwater snails, and sliced raw saltwater eels are tossed by hand with powdered hot pepper, garlic, dropwort, and ginger. This is a unique specialty of Daegu, found only in this area for over 30 years. There's plenty of this food to go around. It is an inexpensive menu item with a spicy taste that does not discriminate against any class of people, but encompasses men and women of all ages. Naedang-dong Bangogae Muchimhoe Alley has been formed with 15 restaurants.

 5. Indongchon Sea Eel Alley 

Eel is traditionally known as an invigorating food. Since 1993 restaurants in this area brought fresh eel from Tongyeong and served and it became popular from then. There are 19 restaurants in the alley and 8 of them are Eel specialty restaurants.

 6. Seodaegu-ro Sotdae Street 

A sotdae is a tall wooden pole or stone pillar with a carved bird on its top, built for the purpose of folk belief in Korea. It was usually erected near the entrance of a village to ward off evil spirits as well as to represent villagers' wishes for prosperity and well-being. There are 212 sotdaes in front of 42 restaurants located in the street from Duryu Intersection to Sinpyeongri Intersection. You can enjoy various foods such as seafood soup, bulgogi, raw fish, macchang and samgyetang as well as the beauty of nature.

 7. Apsan Mat Dulle-gil 

Apsan Restaurant Town is where a lot of upscale restaurants are along the Apsan Belt Way. Fancy restaurants are popular dating spots for the local young people and also there are many reasonable Korean food restaurants targeting hikers visiting Apsan.

 8. Nam-gu Badamat-gil 

A food street designated by the Nam-gu Office is formed within the commercial district of Bongdukdong. There were 40 raw fish restaurants in the area in its prime and still 17 raw fish specialty restaurants remained here.
