[Tour] Welcome to Pyeonggwang-dong where an 'apple festival' is held!

On November 2(Sat), we will have an event called 'Experience Picking Apples' in Pyeonggwang-dong which initiated the famous apple plantation of Daegu 114 years ago.
Under the slogan of 'Be Fascinated with the Taste and Scent of Apples while Walking Mt. Palgong Olle Road', participants are supposed to take a walk the route-4 among the Olle Roads in Mt. Palgong at this peak of fall. It is expected to have a chance to feel the deepened autumn flavour enjoying the fall foliage.
The picking apple experience is the highlight of this event. The largest participants ever will join the event bringing back the self-picked apples home(3.5 kg/person). In addition, the participants will receive an interesting explanation on the history of the apples of the town and the Olle Road of Mt. Palgong by the culture-expositors accompanied.
Any citizens of Daegu can join this event and the application will be accepted in the order of arrival by November 1.

Bullodong Tomb Park
The tombs at the Bullo-dong Tomb Park have been Preserved in their original shapes, which makes them a valuable representation Of what the ancient Daegu basin was like.
Built in the 5th or 6th  century, they are estimated to be the tombs of the ruling powers in this area. About 214 tombs with a clear appearance are restored to their original form.

Bangjja Yugi Museum
Bangjja is a vessel made by pounding melted brass.
Bangjja yugi museum is the nation
s only brassware-speciallized Museum. Quality brassware made by brassware specialist Lee Bong-ju is on display.

Donghwasa Temple
Donghwasa is a time-honored Buddhist temple, which was built by Priest Geukdal-hwasang in 493 of the Silla Dynasty. It is located in the valley of Dohak-dong below Mt. Palgong. On the premises of the temple, a main  worshipping hall, and an enormous statue of a Stone Budda standing up high are available for followers of Buddhism. To the east of the temple, Geumdangam Hermitage stands as a separate block. There are also treasures such as the original gate pillar holding temple flag(Treasure No. 254), a stone sarira stupa(Treasure No.601) and a gently smiling buddha relief9Treasure No.243.

Located at the Donghwasa Facilities Complex, this is a good place for educational purposes, particularly for teenagers. Here, you can learn how to prepare yourself for various life emergencies, such as subway accidents, storm and flood damage, earthquakes, and accidents in the mountains.

Nokdong-seowon· Dalseong korea japan Friendship Center
Nokdong-seowon Confucian Academy is aimed at remembering General KIM Chung-seon(Mohadang). He was a Japanese general but was naturalized as a Joseon citizen during the Imjin-waeran War. He rendered distinguished services to Joseon during the Imjin, Jeongyu and Byeongja Wars. You can visit a Nokdongsa shrine, Hyangyang-mun Gate, Dalseong Korea Japan Friendship Center, etc.

Gwang-Seok Kim Street
GwangSeok Kim was a memorial singer who sang a lot of songs with a gentle voice, He was born and lived Bangcheon Market Daebong-dong in Daegu.
Bancheon Market was one of the 3 major traditional markets and is transforming into A space where culture and art coexist in harmony.
 
Visitors can enjoy walking down the
Road of Kim Gwang-seok, the deceased popular Korean pop singer which is decorated with a painted mural wall. 
There are handicraft shops for hands-on experience in making craft.

Dunsandong Gyeongju Choi' head family
Otgol Viliage is where Gyeongju CHOI clan lives together. Baekbul-gotaek, head house of the Gyeongju CHOI clan, which is the oldest house from Joseon Dynasty in Daegu, and Bobondan Shrine are located here.


Medical Missionary Museum
A variety of items with historic value, which show a 100 year history of local medical service, missionary work and education, are on display.

This village was created by Moon Gyeong-ho(1812~1874), the 18th descendant of MoonIk-jeom, who had been a loyal retainer during the end of Goryeo Dynasty. Traditional houses, a shrine, and a library, which are named Gwanggeodang, Subong-jeongsa, Insumungo Library, all remain. They represent the typical architectural style of the noble class of the Southeast Korean region. Nearby is the Inheung-seowon Confucian Academy.
